Welcome to The Thin Blue Line

This site is dedicated to all the men from the six constituent Sussex Police Forces and the three constituent Surrey Police Forces who fought in the First World War. In particular it records the details of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their King and Country.

To return to the main index page at anytime simply click on the words 'the thin blue line' which appears in the left hand column on every page. This page also contains a PicoSearch icon which enables a search for individual words or phrases.

I should also like to acknowledge the help of the many individuals and organisations in supplying information about these men.

One particular organisation deserves special praise and that is the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Their permission to use both cemetery descriptions and photographs has been especially helpful.
